County team travelled to Gloucester on Saturday 10th Oct to play
their first game as holders of the Three Cities Cup, Hereford won 580 to 571,
Captain of our team is Steve Fleet.

The teams are now well into the new winter season and mostly playing well, notable scores over 40 this week were a 40 from J Marchant (Richmond Painters) a 41 from D G Wallace (GWRSA’A’) a 42 from S Fraser (Woodentops) & D Williams (GWRSA’A’) a 44 from M Wallace (GWRSA’A’) and finally a 45 from K Perkins (Wellies) his 2nd this season already.

All teams
were in action on Friday, and from the scores they seem to of blown off the
cobwebs, notable scores were a 40 from L Cheshire of the Wellies, his team mate
G Cheshire scored a 41 along with A Goodman of Phoenix Nights, then 42’s from G
Ankers of Welsh Club ‘W’, M Dunk of The Generals & M W Owens of Richmond
Drakes. Then 43’s from J Williams of Trevor Williams & D Williams of
Strongbow, then 44’s from team mates J Davidson & A Morgan of team Barton.
Then the highest score in the 40’s was a 45 from A Oxley of GWRSA ‘B’ team, but
these great scores were all eclipsed by two in the 50’s, a 51 from R Weston of
the GWRSA ‘A’ team which was achieved with leg scores of 9, 14, 7 & 21. Then
the best score of the night was 54 by B knill of the Welsh Club ‘W’ team made

For the
first time this season all 5 divisions were in action, that’s 32 games with 768
men playing plus reserves, and this will continue now until March 2016. Some
notable scores were 40’s from S Chester & D Gwilliam, a 41 from M Rundle, a
43 from S Middleton, a 44 from P Sutton, a lovely 45 from K Rawlings and a
stonking 46 from Les Tricklebank of Whitecross ‘B’ which included an 18 & an 11 spare to go with a 9 & 8, the
18 was the best spare of the night, well done to Les and to all of the 40+

The 2nd week of the winter league, all the rust should now be shaken off, although some scores suggest that not all players have done so yet.40 teams made up of 480 players were in action on Friday night and the notable scores from those games were 40’s by M Morris & D Phillips, 41’s by S Moore & R Williams, 42’s by J Clay & I Collins and a 44 by M Forrest of the Woodpeckers which included a 15 & a 17 spare. Next week (2nd Oct) all five divisions will be in action for the first time.

games of the league season took place on Friday for Divisions 1 to 3, there
were 41 games with one game ending as a draw between Herefordians & Livin
On A Spare, they gain one point each. Other notable scores from Friday are 40’s
from D Cartwright, G Ankers, A Morgan, P Wood, M Morris, J Clay & N
Braithwaite. 41’s from R Snead, B Prosser, K Perkins & P Turner. And
finally 42’s from L Cox & M Storr. There will now be one more week with

11th September Hereford Times report
The 2nd round of the Man Versus Man cup took place on Friday, there were quite a few draws so these game were decided by match score.
Notable high scores are, 40 from P Benjamin of the Antelopers, a 41 from J Reading of Richmond ‘A’, a 43 from P Speak of Richmond Painters, then from a very high scoring game between Southend & Evans SC a 44 from N Morris of Southend and a 49 from H Davies of Evans SC to get to a game total of 408 (Evans) to 340 (Southend).The next round for this cup is to be held on the 1st January. The league games start on Sept 18th with all teams from Divisions 1 to 3 playing.
